The Academy of Finance proudly announces the appointment of three new Associate Professors in Economics

(AOF) – On the afternoon of December 8, at the main campus located at No. 58 Le Van Hien Street, Dong Ngac, Hanoi, the Academy of Finance held a Ceremony to Announce Appointment and Reappointment Decisions for Associate Professors in 2025.

There were three newly appointed Associate Professors, including Mr. Cao Minh Tien – Faculty of Banking and Insurance; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Huong – Faculty of Foreign Languages; and Mr. Nguyen The Anh – Institute of International Finance Education, and one Associate Professor reappointed in 2025 – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Duy Nguyen – Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration.

Program Overview

Attending the program were: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Dao Tung – Member of the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Finance, Director of the Academy; Dr. Nguyen Van Binh – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Academy Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Thieu – Deputy Director, Chairman of the Academy Trade Union; Meritorious Teacher Prof. Nguyen Trong Co – former Secretary of the Party Committee, former Director of the Academy, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Economic and Financial Research, together with comrades from the Party Committee, the Academy Council, and leaders of faculties, departments, centers, and institutes.

The State Council for Professorship decided to recognize 900 candidates as meeting the standards for the titles of Professor and Associate Professor in 2025, including 71 Professors and 829 Associate Professors. Among them, the Academy of Finance has 03 newly appointed Associate Professors.

At the Conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Le Cuong – Head of the Personnel Organization Department announced the Decisions on meeting the standards for the academic titles and the Decisions on appointing the title of Associate Professor for three lecturers: Nguyen Thi Thuy Huong (Faculty of Foreign Languages); Cao Minh Tien (Faculty of Banking and Insurance); Nguyen The Anh (Institute of International Finance Education), as well as the Decision on reappointment to the title of Associate Professor in 2025 for Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Duy Nguyen (Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration).

Speaking at the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Dao Tung – Director of the Academy, on behalf of the Academy’s leadership and more than 25,000 students, warmly congratulated the Associate Professors who were appointed and reappointed in 2025. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Dao Tung highly appreciated the great efforts of each individual as well as the support from their families and colleagues. This is not only an honor but also a significant responsibility, especially in the context where higher education is facing profound changes driven by the rapid development of science and technology. These individuals are pioneers in upholding academic standards, professional ethics, innovation, and responsibility toward learners.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Dao Tung expressed his expectations that the Associate Professors would continue to maintain their passion for research, persist in exploring new frontiers of knowledge, and contribute even more to training and scientific research at the Academy of Finance; continue to produce valuable scientific works, lead strong research groups, and accompany and inspire students and colleagues in their academic journeys.

On behalf of the Associate Professors who were appointed and reappointed, newly appointed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cao Minh Tien expressed his sincere gratitude to the Party Committee – Academy Council – Board of Directors of the Academy of Finance, as well as the leaders of faculties and units managing lecturers, for their continued trust, support, guidance, and companionship over the years. This has been a great source of motivation for the Associate Professors to confidently pursue teaching, research, and academic excellence. Newly appointed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cao Minh Tien also conveyed his deep appreciation to previous generations of teachers—those who guided, mentored, and ignited the passion for scientific research from the very first days of entering the lecture hall—and committed to: upholding scientific integrity; continuously improving the quality of teaching and research; leading and supporting younger generations of lecturers and students; linking research with the practical development of the country and the finance–banking–securities sector; and always placing the reputation and brand of the Academy above personal interests.

With the Decisions recognizing eligibility for the academic title and the Decisions appointing the title of Associate Professor in 2025, the Academy of Finance now has 52 Associate Professors. Together with 02 Professors and nearly 600 PhD and Master’s degree holders, this constitutes a significant pool of human resources, providing a solid foundation for the strong development of the Academy of Finance in implementing its objectives in line with Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science and technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.
