Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Thieu – Vice President, Chairman of the Academy’s Trade Union – launches the new academic year’s emulation movement

At the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Thieu launched the 2025–2026 emulation movement. Citing President Ho Chi Minh’s call for patriotic emulation: “Emulation is patriotism; to love one’s country is to emulate. Those who emulate are the most patriotic people,” he emphasized the Academy’s commitment to emulation. Year after year, through emulation movements, generations of staff, employees, and learners have worked diligently and participated effectively in activities across all areas, building strong teams and exemplary role models who serve as the core of movements to accomplish political tasks—contributing significantly to the Academy’s achievements over the past 62 years.

Entering the 2025–2026 academic year—the first year of implementing the Resolution of the AOF Party Congress for the 2025–2030 term, the 1st Party Congress of the Ministry of Finance, and relevant Resolutions and Conclusions of the Party and the National Assembly, together with directives of the Government, the Prime Minister, and the Ministry of Finance on continuing the comprehensive reform of education and training—the new year begins as the whole country resolutely implements Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in education and training development and Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, in the context of international integration and the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The Academy has set tasks for the new year: to be proactive, creative, flexible, and resolute, implementing synchronous solutions to enhance the quality of training, scientific research, and international cooperation, and to uphold President Ho Chi Minh’s teachings on patriotic emulation.

On behalf of the Academy’s Leadership, the Trade Union Leadership, and the Emulation–Commendation Council, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Thieu launched the patriotic emulation movement for the new academic year with eight key focuses across all fields: maintaining and promoting traditions of solidarity, cultural civility, discipline, and responsibility; striving to fulfill political tasks across the Academy’s areas of work; ensuring appropriate enrollment scale while further improving training quality, scientific research, and digital transformation/IT application; strictly complying with Party directives and State laws; promoting the campaign of “Studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and style” and other emulation movements; effectively building strong units, Party organizations, Trade Union, and Youth Union; organizing robust emulation movements and cultural–sports activities; and strengthening measures to ensure the quality and effectiveness of emulation.

Signing of the emulation pact by leaders of nine units—representing the entire Academy of Finance—also took place at the ceremony, including: the Academy Trade Union, Academy Youth Union, Personnel & Organization Department, Training Management Department, Scientific Research Management Department, International Cooperation Department, Faculty of Accounting Information Systems, Faculty of Fundamental Sciences, and the Institute of International Training—affirming their commitment to the launched goals and spirit.

At the conclusion of the Academy’s program, at Hall 700 and across lecture halls, all staff, employees, and students together watched the live broadcast of the Ceremony celebrating the 80th anniversary of the education sector and the opening of the 2025–2026 school year, aired from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m.

A student’s reflection

Attending the program, Bui Thai Hai Nguyen (Cohort Q62) shared: “I felt deeply moved and proud to join this event, to review the history of Vietnam’s education sector, and to hear the greetings for the new academic year from General Secretary To Lam. This is a special, nationally organized event that affirms the Party’s and the State’s attention to education and to the country’s future generations. Through the program, I gained a clearer understanding of the history and meaning of the national ‘All Children to School’ day. I am more aware of my own responsibility to the nation and of the great contributions of the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and the State. I will strive harder in study, training, and self-improvement to affirm the role of a future owner of the country.”

From September 6 to 9, the Academy of Finance will organize enrollment for new students of Cohort CQ63. All preparations—human resources, facilities, and logistics—are ready to welcome the newcomers to the common home named “Academy of Finance.”
