Predicted Admission Scores for 2025
The 2025 National High School Graduation Examination has just officially concluded, and candidates will await their results to apply to universities and colleges. With many years of experience in admissions, NGUT.PGS.TS Nguyen Dao Tung – Director of the Academy of Finance – shared some insights on the 2025 admissions situation.
In your opinion, how will the reality of the 2025 National High School Graduation Examination impact the admissions process at higher education institutions?
It is predicted that in 2025, the average score distribution of candidates will be lower than in previous years; therefore, admission scores at higher education institutions based on the National High School Graduation Examination results will decrease.
In particular, the admission scores for top universities are expected to drop by 3–5 points. Many institutions will have lower admission scores, and mid-ranking universities are anticipated to see admission scores decline by 3–4 points.

As the country’s leading training institution in the fields of Finance and Economics, what strategies does the Academy of Finance employ to maximize its advantages and enhance the effectiveness of this year’s admissions?
In 2025, the Academy of Finance will use three admission methods: direct admission under the Ministry of Education and Training’s regulations; combined admission; and admission based on the results of the 2025 National High School Graduation Examination. These methods are simple and convenient for candidates, with score calculations designed to favor applicants, and leverage technology.
With a large pool of interested candidates and its reputation as a prestigious institution in the economics sector, I am confident the Academy will select outstanding students whose scores match the school’s programs.
Although admission scores may decrease and the score distribution will be broader, the Academy will remain among the top three institutions nationwide in Finance and Economics training.
Candidates should not be anxious

The 2025 National High School Graduation Examination has just concluded, and many opinions have indicated that the Math and English exam papers were too difficult, causing many candidates to be unable to complete them. In your opinion, what impact will this have on the school’s admissions process?
I believe that this will not significantly affect the admissions process of institutions this year.
The Math and English exam papers are well-designed, but they are not suitable for the vast majority of candidates nationwide. Because of the new curriculum, new methods, new formats, and new exam papers, the way they are delivered in high schools across the country varies—teachers both research and teach… Therefore, the quality of teaching and learning nationwide is not truly uniform.
Can you predict the admission scores for the majors/fields at the Academy of Finance this year?
Predictions for the 2025 admissions: the Academy of Finance will have a wide range of admission scores, possibly from 22 to 28 points, not as concentrated as in 2024 (from 26.03 to 26.85 on the 30-point scale and 34.35 to 36.15 on the 40-point scale).
Thus, the admission scores for some majors at the Academy of Finance may decrease by 3–4 points compared to last year. A wider score distribution will give candidates the opportunity to confidently apply to the right major to enhance their chances of admission.

To accompany the candidates, the 2025 Admissions Council of the Academy of Finance plans to lower the entry score threshold by approximately 1 point.
In 2025, the Academy will open 9 additional internationally certified–oriented programs such as: Banking; Financial Investment; Tax and Tax Administration; Management Accounting and Control; Public Accounting; Valuation and Real Estate Business; International Business; Business Administration; Investment Economics.
Under the standard program, the school will newly introduce the following training programs: Political Economy – Finance; Economic Law; Financial Mathematics; Data Science in Finance; Artificial Intelligence in Financial Accounting.
Several of the newly introduced majors at the Academy are expected to have relatively high admission scores, as they are fields with great appeal to candidates and meet a strong societal demand for high-quality human resources.
We respectfully thank you!
