In the context where Artificial Intelligence (AI) is “taking the world by storm” and becoming an indispensable part of various fields, especially in learning and scientific research, the Institute of International Finance Education – Academy of Finance (IIFE) has promptly embraced the trend and organized activities for DDP students to have the opportunity to access, explore, and apply AI tools in their studies.

On the morning of April 9, 2025, the Youth Union of the Institute of International Finance Education held the workshop “Application of AI in Learning – Tools, Skills, and Potential.” The program provided DDP students with the opportunity to approach and master AI tools, opening up new horizons in learning and their journey of scientific research.

The workshop offered DDP students a new perspective on the application of AI in learning.

Joining the workshop to share with DDP students was Dr. Dam Thanh Tu – Head of the Faculty of Digital Economics, Academy of Policy and Development – the keynote speaker of the program. With many years of experience in the field of information technology and artificial intelligence, the speaker shared practical and valuable insights, helping DDP students gain a deeper understanding of the potential and applications of AI in learning and scientific research.

The speaker – Dr. Dam Thanh Tu – passionately shared insights about AI technology.

On behalf of the Institute of International Finance Education (IIFE), the event was attended by Dr. Nguyen Bich Thuan – Vice Director; Dr. Nguyen The Anh – Deputy Head of the Department of Science and International Training Development; Ms. Ngo Lan Huong – Secretary of the Youth Union, along with a large number of faculty members and DDP students interested in this field.

Dr. Nguyen Bich Thuan – Representative of the Institute of International Finance Education – presented a gift of appreciation to the guest speaker.

Opening the event, Dr. Nguyen Bich Thuan shared: “Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer a distant concept—it has become an integral part of our learning, research, work, and entertainment activities. Understanding and applying AI properly will be the key for students to enhance personal productivity, develop digital thinking skills, and master technology in the digital age. Through this workshop, the IIFE hopes that DDPers will gain practical knowledge, useful tools, and clearer orientation on their learning and self-development journey. At the same time, we aim to spread a spirit of proactive learning and smart, effective, and responsible use of technology—contributing to the building of a modern, creative, and humanistic learning environment”

At the workshop, Dr. Dam Thanh Tu brought “a breath of fresh air” into the academic and research world of DDP students. With heartfelt insights on developing digital thinking and adapting in the digital era, along with practical AI tools for improving personal efficiency, the speaker inspired exploration and creativity, helping students realize the limitless potential of AI in their journey to acquire knowledge.

Not only did Dr. Dam Thanh Tu paint a comprehensive picture of AI, but he also skillfully highlighted its potential “dark sides” such as passivity, misinformation, and security risks. This enabled DDP students not only to grasp the power of AI but also to understand how to use it wisely and responsibly. His emotional discussion about personal responsibility in the digital environment, ethics in learning and scientific research in the age of AI, sparked a deep sense of transparency, honesty, and accountability among students when using AI—while also warning against unethical practices such as plagiarism and generating fake information in their academic research.

“AI cannot completely replace humans, but those who master AI can” – the speaker affirmed.

During the live discussion session, Dr. Dam Thanh Tu turned AI tools such as ChatGPT, Deepseek, Gemini, Imagen 3, Canva, HeyGen, and other research-supporting applications into reliable companions for students. With dedicated guidance, he helped students become familiar with these tools, turning them into powerful assistants in their learning and research journeys. The speaker also emphasized that no matter how powerful AI becomes, humans remain the center of all creativity. Those who can combine the power of AI with their own intelligence and emotions will create extraordinary breakthroughs.

DDPers actively engaged in asking questions for the speaker.

It is believed that after participating in the workshop “Application of AI in Learning – Tools, Skills, and Potential,” DDP students will confidently apply AI to their studies and scientific research projects, opening up new directions and contributing to the development of the Institute of International Finance Education as it celebrates 15 years of establishment.

The Institute hopes to continue providing diverse and high-quality learning experiences for students, contributing to the formation of a generation of DDPers who are confident, creative, and ready to integrate into the competitive labor market in this era of global integration.
