DDP stands for Dual Degree Programme, an official undergraduate programme of the Academy of Finance in collaboration with the University of Greenwich (United Kingdom). The programme is full-time, lasting 4 years, and delivered in a format where EACH INSTITUTION AWARDS ONE BACHELOR’S DEGREE.
DDP is the only official undergraduate programme in Vietnam that offers the following distinctive features:
- Full-time, official 4-year training in one of two formats:
- Studying all 4 years in Hanoi; or
- Studying the first 3 years in Hanoi and the final year at the University of Greenwich (London, United Kingdom).
- Regardless of the study location, all students follow ONE unified training programme and are awarded TWO BACHELOR’S DEGREES:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Banking issued by the Academy of Finance; and
- A Bachelor of Arts in Accounting & Finance issued by the University of Greenwich.

In addition, upon graduation, students are also accredited and granted full exemption from all 9 Foundation-level papers (F1–F9) by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) – a globally prestigious and recognized body in the field of accounting and auditing.
DDP Programme Curriculum
In Vietnam, students study at the campus of the Academy of Finance (International Training Institute) at No. 19, Hang Chao Alley, Cat Linh Ward, Dong Da District, Hanoi – opposite Gate No. 10 of Hang Day Stadium, on the extended Hung Vuong Street, just 800 meters from the Temple of Literature.
The programme includes English language training (for students who do not yet meet the English proficiency requirements); general knowledge training, foundational knowledge in the field, and specialized knowledge. Details are as follows:
English Training Programme for DDP Students
If a student admitted to the DDP programme has limited English proficiency, they are required to take English training courses specifically designed for DDP students.
English training at the International Training Institute consists of two stages:
General English, including 3 levels (ENG 1011, ENG 1012, ENG 1013). The curriculum, assessment methods, testing and exams are developed based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
After completing the General English stage, students’ English proficiency is evaluated at the Intermediate level, equivalent to B1–B2 on the CEFR scale, which qualifies them to enter the higher-level training stage.
IELTS Preparation, including 3 levels (ENG 2014, ENG 2015, ENG 2016). The curriculum, teaching methods, assessment, and final exams follow the IELTS format.
Upon completing the English training programme, students are expected to achieve English proficiency equivalent to IELTS 6.0, enabling them to confidently pursue specialized courses in English and take the international IELTS exam if desired.
General Knowledge Training Stage
This stage includes 5 courses in Political Theory as required by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), and subjects such as Economics, Quantitative and System Analysis, Principles of Accounting, National Defense Education, and Physical Education.
By the end of the first year, DDP students are equipped with sufficient knowledge in the general education stage.

Specialized Foundation Knowledge Training Stage
The Specialized Foundation Knowledge Training Stage includes subjects such as Finance and Currency, Financial Markets, Financial Instruments and Institutions, Business and Corporate Law, Financial Mathematics, Financial Accounting 1, Management Accounting 1, and Research Methodology.
This stage is primarily scheduled during the second year. During the Specialized Foundation Knowledge Training Stage, DDP students are exposed to active learning methods and modern assessment approaches based on EU standards. Students are required to complete both individual and group assignments to develop personal competencies and enhance teamwork skills.
Throughout the training process, students participate in field trips and multiple internships to gain practical experience, improve themselves, and develop professional skills.

As a general structure, the courses in the Core and Specialized Knowledge Training Stage are scheduled during the third and fourth years of the programme.
The content of specialized courses is designed in alignment with international professional and integration standards, particularly in accordance with CFA and ACCA frameworks.
In Vietnam, students study at the campus of the Academy of Finance (Institute of International Financial Education), located at No. 19, Hang Chao Alley, Cat Linh Ward, Dong Da District, Hanoi.
After completing the first three years in Vietnam, students who wish to pursue their final year abroad can transfer to the United Kingdom to complete their programme. In the UK, students study at the University of Greenwich, London, located at the Old Royal Naval College, Park Row, Greenwich, London SE10 9LS, UK.
Whether studying in Vietnam or in the United Kingdom, in the fourth and final year, students take only five advanced specialized courses, including: Finance, Strategic Financial Management, Advanced Management Accounting, Advanced Financial Accounting, and Auditing and Assurance Services.

Students who choose to complete their final year in Vietnam still take all five specialized courses in English, with the same curriculum content, examination schedule, course requirements, and assessment methods as those studying in the UK.
