New points in the 2025 university admissions schedule that candidates need to note

(Dan tri) – On March 29, the Ministry of Education and Training issued a draft guide on university and college admissions, stating the timelines for university admissions.

According to the guidelines, candidates use the account provided on the Ministry of Education and Training’s admissions system to check their high school transcript results. If there is an error, they must report it before 5:00 p.m. on June 6.

Those eligible for direct admission and priority direct admission must submit their application to universities no later than June 30, and receive their results before July 15. The new point is that instead of enrolling early as in previous years, this group must continue to register their preferences on the Ministry’s system to be considered according to the common schedule.

The 2025 high school graduation exam scores will be announced by the Ministry on July 16.

From July 16 to 5:00 p.m. on July 28, candidates register, adjust, and supplement their university admission preferences without any limit on the number of times. Prior to that, candidates will be able to practice registering on a trial basis.

After the high school graduation exam scores are released, universities will announce the minimum entrance quality assurance threshold (the floor score). For the fields of pedagogy and health sciences, the floor score will be announced before 5:00 p.m. on July 23.

Candidates pay the admission fee online from July 29 to 5:00 p.m. on August 5. After that, the Ministry and universities will process the admission preferences (virtual filtering) in 6 rounds, from August 16 to 5:00 p.m. on August 20. After this period, universities begin announcing their cut-off scores. This schedule is 3 days later than in 2024.

After the cut-off scores are announced, successful candidates must confirm their enrollment on the system, no later than 5:30 p.m. on August 30.

The Ministry requires that universities not organize enrollment before August 22. Additional admission rounds begin on September 1 and continue until the end of the year.

The Ministry of Education and Training notes that a highlight of this year’s admissions season is that early admissions no longer exist, and that when considering admissions based on academic transcripts, results for the entire 12th grade must be used. Educational institutions must publicly disclose the rules for converting equivalent grades to admissions scores.

The Ministry requires the use of appropriate foreign language certificates for conversion into a foreign language subject in admissions; the total additional points must not exceed 10% of the maximum score of the admissions scale.

The 2025 high school graduation exam will take place on June 26-27. Candidates studying the current general education curriculum (the 2018 program) must take 4 exams, with math and literature being mandatory. In addition, they will choose two subjects they studied in school (chemistry, physics, biology, geography, history, economic and legal education, informatics, technology, and foreign languages).

Candidates following the old curriculum (2006) will take exams in literature, math, and foreign language, along with one of the two exams in natural sciences (physics, chemistry, biology) and social sciences (history, geography, civics).
